Fun fact about me - I worked for lululemon for many years after graduating from university. As a huge fan of their products, I was thrilled to get the job and learned so much while I was there (I even met my partner there! #lululemonlovestory) For the past few years, I've been a part of the lululemon collective program which has been a great opportunity for me to share my favourite pieces that I wear every day and during my yoga practice. These are a few of my absolute must-haves if you're new to lululemon products or if you're looking to change up your athleisure wardrobe. My suggestions are geared towards yoga and casual wear, as I've really been enjoying low-impact workouts these days.
Let me be real with you guys - I will not practice yoga in any other pant than the Align Pant. I used to play around with different brands and styles, but nothing topped the comfort and sensation of the Align Pant on my body. The Align Pant is made of a fabric that's called Nulu. It's soft and is quick-drying (a lifesaver for hot yoga). What I like best about these pants is it doesn't constrict me in any area. I don't feel like anything is digging in or pulling - the fabric simply moves with my body. Super high-rise too for my fellow high-rise lovers. I think I probably have about 10 different colours, I'm obsessed.
One thing I will say about the Align Pant is that it is delicate, so don't wear it for running or something high-intensity. I wear these for yoga and Pilates and they work wonders!
My lululemon dreams came true when the Align Tank was released. I see so many people in-studio classes wearing this tank and let me tell you - it looks flattering on so many different body types. Something about the cut of the neckline makes it look so elegant. Like the Align Pant, the Align Tank is made of Nulu fabric, so it's incredibly soft and stretchy. The Align Tank has a built-in bra. I'm a B cup and I feel like it provides me with enough support on its own. Those with bigger boobs might find it not as supportive, but for yoga, I think it would be supportive enough. The bra cups can also be removed if needed. The Align Tank is cropped, but they also have a waist-length style too if cropped isn't your thing.
Picture this, it's Sunday morning and you're on your way to Pilates. You're wearing your Align Pant and Align Tank. You need something breathable and cozy to throw over your tank. Enter the Scuba Oversized Half-Zip Hoodie. I LOVE a half-zip like you wouldn't believe. So simple, comfortable, and practical for before and after your workout. The oversized look goes perfectly with the Align Pant, Wunder Train Tight, or the Align Shorts.
Lined with fleece, you'll find it perfectly cozy. I find it to be very breathable which is perfect for post-sweat. There's nothing worse than putting on clothing after a sweaty workout that just makes you sweat more!
Whether it's taking my dog for a walk in the middle of winter, or curling up on the couch at the end of a long day, the Ready To Rulu Joggers are my go-to cozy pants. The Rulu fabric is so soft and warm and the cuff hits my ankle in just the right spot. They are high-waisted, have a drawstring, and nice-sized pockets too. Personally, I size up in these pants, because I do like them to sit a little looser on my body. I find them so flattering and perfect for those cozy winter days.
The Back In Action Long Sleeve is my absolute favorite to throw on for a casual day out or a trip to the yoga studio. It's super flowy and the neckline goes across the collarbones, which I think looks so lovely. While it's flowy in the body, it's fitted in the arms, but definitely not tight. It's quite lightweight and could be worn in Summer as a light and airy top. It also dips down in the back so depending on your body type, it can cover your bottom. It's a forgiving top without sacrificing style or aesthetic lines.
These are just a few of the staples I wear on the regular. If you have any questions about anything feel free to drop it in the comments or DM me on Instagram (@yogini.taylor).
